Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Try Monthly First — Our "No-Lock-In" Approach
We deliberately keep our Monthly plan as low as ₹49 (Pro) so anyone can try Scanvio for a single month without commitment. This is our equivalent of a free trial — except you actually pay for the value you receive, which keeps us independent (no ads, no tracking, no investor pressure).
Suggested journey:
- Month 1 — Start with the Monthly plan (₹49 Pro or ₹149 Legal+).
- Like it? Upgrade to 3-month (save ~10%) or Yearly (save ~15%) on your next purchase.
- Don't like it? Simply let it expire — no auto-renew, no cancellation needed.
2. ₹1 / $1 download fee
The one-time download fee is non-refundable as it covers a payment-processor cost. However, if you were charged twice or charged in error, email billing@scanvio.app and we will refund the duplicate within 7 business days.
3. Pro & Legal+ subscriptions — Refund Eligibility
3.1 General policy
All subscription purchases (Monthly, 3-Month, Half-yearly, and Yearly) are final and non-refundable once the service has been delivered. This is industry standard and aligns with how digital subscription services worldwide operate (Microsoft 365, Adobe, Spotify, Netflix, etc.).
Because we offer a low-cost Monthly plan, we encourage users to try Scanvio at the smallest commitment level before purchasing longer cycles.
3.2 Statutory rights (Protected by Law)
- EU / EEA / UK customers — 14-day statutory withdrawal right under the Consumer Rights Directive, unless you have already started using the digital service (you explicitly consent to immediate delivery at checkout, waiving this right). This is required by law.
- India — Refund disputes are governed by the RBI Ombudsman Scheme for Digital Transactions, 2019 and applicable consumer protection law.
3.3 Discretionary refunds
At our sole discretion, we may issue refunds in the following cases:
- Service outage: The Service has been unavailable for > 72 consecutive hours during your active billing period.
- Documented bug: A confirmed bug prevented you from using a paid feature for > 7 days and we were unable to resolve it.
- Billing error: You were charged the wrong amount or for a tier you didn't select.
- Duplicate payment: The same transaction was charged more than once.
- Unauthorised transaction: Provided you report within 7 days of the charge appearing on your statement.
Refunds, when granted, are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
4. Cancellation & Plan Changes
Scanvio subscriptions do not auto-renew. There is nothing for you to cancel — when your billing cycle ends, the subscription simply expires unless you manually purchase another cycle. This is intentional: we will never bill you a surprise renewal.
Upgrading plans: If you wish to move from Monthly → 3-Month → Yearly, simply purchase the longer cycle when your current cycle ends. Your remaining days on the current plan will not be lost — the new plan stacks on top, giving you continuous coverage.
5. How to request a refund
- Email billing@scanvio.app from the email address used to purchase.
- Include the Razorpay order_id or PayPal order_id (visible in your payment confirmation email).
- Describe the issue in detail (outage, bug, duplicate charge, etc.) so we can verify eligibility.
We acknowledge within 24 hours and respond with a decision within 5 business days. If approved, bank settlement may take an additional 5–10 business days depending on your card issuer.
5. Chargebacks
Please contact us before initiating a chargeback — we will almost always resolve issues directly and faster than your bank can. Unjustified chargebacks may result in your account being permanently blocked.
6. Failed payments
If a payment fails (insufficient funds, expired card, network issue), no entitlement is granted and no charge appears on your statement. If you see a pending hold that wasn't released, contact billing@scanvio.app with the transaction reference and we'll help follow up with the bank.
7. Currency & taxes
- India: prices are inclusive of 18% GST.
- EU: prices exclude VAT, which is added based on your billing country.
- Other regions: prices are in USD; your bank may apply currency conversion or foreign-transaction fees.
8. Dispute resolution
For India residents, billing disputes are governed by the RBI Ombudsman Scheme for Digital Transactions, 2019. Escalation contact: grievance@scanvio.app (Grievance Officer). Acknowledgement within 48 hours, resolution within 30 days.
